Magic Garden

Magic Garden

Friends –

This acrylic painting, Magic Garden, came about for two reasons.  One reason is that this joyful place – 24 Carrot Farms -- is where I go to lose my woes and be happy. It’s Magic.

For some short hours, volunteers with the Mutual Aid Community Garden work hard.  Even in the sweltering heat we harvest, pull weeds, string up vines and carry boxes of produce to the barn.  And on Sundays, we stack distribution tables with the produce combined with other purchased or donated items that are needed by participating families.

In doing all of the above, friendship grows along with the knowledge that we all have each other’s back.  We are all in this together.

The second reason for doing this ‘Magic Garden’ painting is because of Scott Schroeder’s magic art. Scott and Heather Schroeder are main leads on the Community Table logistics and have been for a couple of years now. Hail, rain, sleet, or heat, they are figuring out ways to set up the Tables in order to provide much needed food and supplies to families in our community.

Scott is also a master wood carver.  Using his art, he created a one-of-a-kind frame you would not believe. It has mountains in the background, tall pines on the sides and an opening custom made for a painting of choice.

I will be sending this custom-fit painting of “Magic Garden” to Scott so that he can put it in the Magic frame. At some point, I will get an image of the framed painting and share it with you. It is likely that it will be offered for sale at the upcoming benefit Art Show to be held later this month. Proceeds will go to extend the purchasing power for non-harvested supplies that set up the Community Table.

Come and join us one day at 24 Carrot. You too will feel the magic.
