Ben's Bench

Friends -
For the past 15 years I have been painting little stepping stools for the toddlers in our family (and also some of our close friends' toddlers). This one is especially for my grandson Benjamin to help him brush his teeth at night.

It is a different shape than the ones I have done in the past -- mostly because it is hard to find the standard bare wood stools anymore. But this is cool in that it has a storage space inside, and is very stable for any little boy's feet. Besides what you see in this picture, the other sides have some sleeping elephants and also ducks (they live in Eugene, OR). There is also a rising morning sun when you lift the lid. Anyway, it is up to Rosa and Gonzalo whether he gets to see it this week for Thanksgiving, or if he will wait for Christmas.

This was one project out of 4 that I hope to complete in the next month -- two are commissioned. How fun is that???
